OnBase is an Enterprise Content Management System created by Hyland Software, Incorporated.Oregon State has licensed this product for digital document storage and management.It is a hosted solution with sophisticated workflow capabilities, strong integration with the web and interfaces with other software solutions used at Oregon State such as DocuSign.

You will be authorized to use OnBase through your department, in the same fashion that you are authorized to use Banner.

Once the approval process is complete, your department's OnBase user administrator will grant access.

You sign up with OnBase.Com by following these steps:

  • Log on to OnBase.com
  • Click the Login button in the upper right
  • In the form that is displayed click “Create Profile”
  • Enter the data in the form that is displayed.You must use your oregonstate.edu email address.
  • Press Next
  • Hyland will verify that you are a member of our community and create your profile.The credentials for this profile are for use in their on line training environment and are completely separate from your user credentials for access to the product.For access to OnBase, you will use your ONID credentials and authenticate through our standard single sign on procedures.
  • You will receive an email from OnBase that will enable you to set up your account.
  • When your account has been established you can login to access the OnBase e-Learning and Premium Subscription Courses available at training.onbase.com

No special software is required if utilizing the OnBase web client which is accessed via a web browser. There is another a desktop client known as the Unity Client which can be installed by the Service Desk for users that would desire that option.

The Unity Client is a version of the user interface for use by those who are building workflows, designing web forms, or creating keywords.Most users will use the Web Client.Unity Client requires an installation on the desktop while the Web Client does not. The Service Desk is able to help install the Unity Client. The software is only compatible with Windows.

The Web Client is a user interface which permits the user access to OnBase with a standard web browser.It does not require any software to be installed on your desk top.
